New coating solutions for decorative applications at Ionbond Mexico
Good news for companies in Mexico and the USA looking for high-quality decorative coatings: Ionbond Mexico has expanded their production capacity with a new PVD coating machine. They are now offering decorative and diamond-like carbon (DLC) coatings in Mexico. Black and dark black PVD coatings are rising in popularity, and with the new machine, Ionbond Mexico is relieving the production scarcity in the country.

Many available colors on the most important base materials
Ionbond Mexico offers a broad portfolio of coating colors, includingmany of the darker ones such as smoked gray, anthracite and deep black. A range of golden colors is also available. Together, these options cover many popular decorative applications, such as kitchen and bath hardware, door hardware, and automotive trim. In sports/outdoor products, these decorative PVD coatings apply a beautiful finish and protective layer to items like golf clubs and outdoor gear. And of course, with their high esthetic appeal, they are also used on luxury goods such as watches.
In terms of base materials, Ionbond Mexico is set up to deposit decorative coatings directly on steel. For aluminum and plastic components, PVD coatings can be deposited on any components pre-treated with a galvanic NiCr coating for corrosion protection. This makes it interesting for customers in the automotive sector, for instance, where this NiCr coating is the standard – they can easily distinguish their products in the market by sending a percentage of their finished components to be PVD-coated.

In addition, the team is focused on developing new projects, with the backup of Ionbond’s global competence centers and expertise.
