Tribobond™ 56
The solution to operate under dry hydrogen atmosphere
As the world shifts towards sustainable mobility, green hydrogen stands out as a key player. Unlike traditional fuels, green hydrogen is fossil-free dry gas, requiring specially adapted frictional properties in coatings used in hydrogen applications. Introducing Tribobond™ 56 – a cutting-edge coating solution designed to meet these unique demands.
Tribobond™ 56 features an advanced top layer similar to Tribobond™ 55, specifically engineered to minimize friction in vacuum and dry gas environments like green hydrogen. This low friction characteristic ensures exceptional wear resistance, even in unlubricated, dry conditions. What sets Tribobond™ 56 apart is the incorporation of a CrN (Chromium Nitride) interlayer. This interlayer boasts high hardness and fracture toughness, enhancing the durability of the DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) top layer. The CrN interlayer not only supports higher contact loads and improves fatigue resistance but also serves as a backup wear-resistant layer if the DLC layer becomes worn. Furthermore, Tribobond™ 56 effectively reduces hydrogen diffusion into the component’s material, preventing hydrogen embrittlement.
Tribobond™ 56 is the recommended coating solution for components in hydrogen fuel injection systems and other applications in hydrogen atmosphere, ensuring long-lasting performance and reliability in green hydrogen applications.
