Medthin™ 18 TiAlCN
TiAICN coating for medical instruments & hospital hardware
Medthin™ 18 TiAlCN is a multi-layer coating with a TiCN top layer. The carbon in the top-layer of the coating accounts for further coating strength and it’s pink colour. Medthin™ 18 TiAlCN has high wear and impact resistance, as well as superior adhesion and is an excellent chemical barrier. This makes it an ideal coating for medical instruments and hospital hardware. Its high resistance to alkaline and acidic cleaning and sterilization cycles makes it a superior alternative to chrome plating on surgical and dental instruments. Medthin™ 18 TiAlCN is deposited at temperatures between 150 °C and 450 °C. The wide range of temperatures allows for a variety of materials to be coated to suit the substrate materials without impacting part geometries and bulk material properties.
