Ionbond introduces its latest, large-volume decorative PVD coating platform in Scandinavia at Ionbond Sweden

18 January 2021

Ionbond is proud to announce the introduction of our latest large-volume PVD coating platform in the Swedish Coating Center, the first for Scandinavia. This system will extend the center’s already well-established PVD capabilities into the high-end decorative PVD coating market.

The new coating platform can deliver the full range of premium decorative PVD coatings, from deep black, anthracite and smoked silver to the ever-popular stainless steel, nickel, brass, gold and copper colors. These decorative PVD coatings can be applied to substrates including stainless steel, titanium, brass, zinc and acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) plastics.

Ionbond Deco & Sport Global Manager Ron Dielis: “Scandinavia is famous for its distinctive design and high-end products. Locally, there has been an increasing demand for specific high-end decorative PVD coatings with the same quality and consistency Ionbond Sweden is already delivering in smaller quantities.”

Ionbond Sweden General Manager Greger Håkansson: “With the addition of this new, large PVD/PACVD coating platform, we have not only added extra capacity for the decorative PVD coating market, but also meet a need for the tool and automotive market.”

Ionbond Sweden Sales Manager Magnus Haglund: “Until now, decorative PVD coating customers were supplied out of Austria, the Netherlands, UK and to some extent Sweden. To meet the growing demand locally, the logical step was to set up a high-end decorative PVD coating line in Sweden. This new system has the capacity to meet the Scandinavian market needs in a more efficient way.”

Ionbond has worldwide the most comprehensive PVD coating portfolio, to service the growing needs of the decorative market. As Surface Engineers, we partner with our customers to understand their application needs and offer customized coating solutions. The introduction of this new decorative PVD coating platform is another step in the direction of our commitment to these partnerships.
