The facility furthermore holds ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality certificates and over 15 years of experience.
The latest Ionbond coatings for high-performance metal forming
Ionbond introduced the new Ionbond™ 90 Concept coating, with an unmatched balance of high hardness and low friction. It is very well suited for high-performance metal forming applications and coatings for hot forming such as die casting, extrusion and hot forging.
Ionbond also introduces the Ionbond™ 35 and Ionbond™ 95 high-temperature-resistant coatings. Their unique formula makes them suitable for temperatures up to 800°C and 1050°C. Tools coated with Ionbond™ 35 are used for Al die casting and hot forming, where the coating reduces adhesive and abrasion wear. Ionbond™ 347 is a coating with a new and unique formula that also helps reduce corrosive tool wear. It can also be used to coat plasticizing screws and check valves for wear protection.
DLC coatings – Diamond Like Carbon Coatings
DLC coatings are amorphous, very smooth, with an extremely low coefficient of friction and high hardness. Furthermore DLC coatings are deposited with a PACVD (plasma accelerated chemical vapor deposition) process at about 200 °C. With these properties, DLC coatings are desirable in automotive power train applications as well for industrial precision components like pumps, turbines, transmissions, vents, bearings, seals, vanes, impellers, pistons and many more.
Other benefits of PVD coatings: colors and medical applications
PVD and DLC coatings can be deposited in many shades such as gold, copper, chrome, brass and bronze, plus brown, anthracite and black. Decorative PVD coatings are deposited on luxury goods such as watches, eyeglass frames, jewelry, and also on kitchen and bathroom components, sports equipment, etc.
Some Ionbond PVD coatings are FDA-certified, documenting their acceptability for applications in medical instruments, human implants, and on food processing tools and components. Furthermore, PVD coatings can be provided with an antibacterial property - a feature that is of great value in the healthcare sector.
