Medthin™ 40 MeDLC

Low friction MeDLC coating for instruments and tools

Medthin™ 40 a-C:H:W is a metal containing DLC coating, also known under the name of WCC. It features low friction, dark color, and certified biocompatibility according to ISO 10993-1 for use on surgical instruments and tools.

Medthin™ 40 is ideally suited for the coating of complex geometries with various surface textures. It exhibits high fracture toughness and shows best adhesion properties on all commonly used metal alloys such as stainless steels, titanium, and CoCrMo.

The anthracite color provides a precious appearance and reduces light reflection. In addition, the non-stick properties and dense coating structure simplify the cleaning and sterilization process.

Medthin™ 40 coated instruments can be cleaned and sterilized by means of all procedures commonly used in hospitals.
