DLC Coatings for Injection system components

Modern common rail and unit injector systems on passenger car and heavy truck diesel engines operate at pressures of up to 3.000 bar and on gasoline engines at 200 bar in order to achieve EU6 emission limits. Tribobond™ DLC coatings are applied to various components that would otherwise suffer from wear and consequently lose the tight fits in the assembly.

Typical parts that benefit from the supportive, low friction and high hardness DLC coatings are fuel injection and fuel pump components like valve needles, plungers, control and pumping pistons.
