Ionbond’s carbon-based Tribobond™ 40 series DLC coatings applied in the valve train or crank train area reduce frictional losses in lubricated operations by up to 40%. The excellent dry lubrication properties also compensate for the reduced lubrication until the oil film has reached its full strength and allow for frequent Start-Stops without additional wear.

The resulting savings in both material and assembly cost outweigh the cost for coating.
